Canada has invited 761 candidates through the Express Entry pathway for permanent residency on September 29th, 2021. Requested candidates had formerly received nominations under a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which totals to 600 points added to their original Express Entry score. Therefore of the award, candidates required a score of at least 742 to be requested.
In previous PNP draws, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 521 PNP candidates with scores of at least 732. The fresh draw is greater but also has a greater score limit, signifying that there are more high-scoring candidates in the pool under the Provincial Nominee Class.
IRCC asked more Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residency this year since 2020. In 2020, IRCC issued 107,350 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry scheme. Thus, this year, it has distributed more than 108,000 invites, with three months remaining in the year.
