CANADA’S STREAM FOR INTERNATIONAL GRADUATES REACHES LIMIT

The new IRCC pathway has reached its cap and is no longer accepting applications for international graduates

The IRCC’s international graduate pathway that launched on May 06th, 2021 has already reached its cap for immigration applicants that was set at 40,000 applications.

The mark was reached at around May 07th, 2021 1:0m. This means that within 48 hours of the new Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada pathway launch for express entry into Canada, the limit that the federal government set was achieved.

The IRCC had previously announced its purpose on April 14th, 2021 with a joint effort between the Bar Association of Canada and the federal government. This gave qualified legal professionals and consultants the opportunity to have their clients prepared for this one time only immigration pathway into Canada.

The IRCC aimed to target approximately 90,000 applicants for immigration into Canada while still in keeping with pandemic protocols. The purpose of this stream was to target federal skilled workers and international student graduates who already reside in Canada. These targets included French speaking and English speaking federal skilled workers and international graduates.

The IRCC has set a target of accepting over 400,000 new immigrants into Canada in 2021 which is a massive increase from when the program launched in 2015 and an increase from the number of intake applications that was processed in 2020.

Qualified legal professionals and consultants were able to assist their clients within the coming weeks leading to the temporary opening of the new pathway for immigration as instructions were released prior to May 06th.

If you would like to migrate to Canada or want to know more about the Express Entry process, it is best to consult with an immigration consultant with years of experience in the matter.

The reasons for the new express entry pathways issued by the federal government is due to the large demand for the international graduate stream of immigrants who qualify through a lower selection process.

Those persons with lower CRS scores were able to qualify through the new pathway due to different selection criteria that allowed federal skilled workers with working experience in Canada and throughout various provinces to migrate to Canada.

Furthermore, international graduates who recently graduated from a Canadian Designated Institution were also allowed to migrate to Canada in order to fill the migrant worker deficit that the country is seeing.

For more information on the immigration process through the IRCC, express entry or to find out how to successfully qualify and move to Canada, consult with an immigration expert consultant or firm.
